HISTORY OF BMSIT

FOUNDER:
The history of BMSIT and its allied institutions dates back to year 1946. Late Sri. B.M.Srinivasaish a philanthropist, and visionary, realized the importance of technical education in the country. He started BMS college of Engineering in the year 1946, which has the distinction of being the first private engineering college in the country.
Sri B.M.Srinivasaiah was honoured by the Maharaja of Mysore by conferring on him titles ‘Dharma Prakasha’ and ‘Raja Karya Prasaktha’. His ideals continued to guide the inheritors of his legacy. Today, BMS Educational Trust is managing five institutions. BMS Institute of Technology is the latest addition to chain of BMS institutions.
ABOUT THE NOBLE SON:
After the sad demise of Sri B.M.Srinivasaiah his Illustrious son Sri. B.S. Narayan, a dyanamic & enterprising personality developed the BMS college of Engineering into one of the finest engineering colleges. In addition, he established other institutions of higher Education including BMS college of Law, BMS college for women & BMS Evening college of Engineering. He was instrumental in initiating international collaborative programs, such as training foreign students under international co-operative division, cross cultural programs with Melton Foundation etc.
